Lime Light IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Treatment of Skin Redness, Tiny Veins, Brown Spots and Sun Damage

This a non-invasive approach to skin revitalization using Cutera’s LimeLight. The procedure offers the advantage of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage ( age spots, sun damage, hyperpigmentation).

What areas can be treated? The LimeLight IPL Facial is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. Light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to treatment.

What do treatments feel like? When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching/ stinging/ warm sensation. We use gel to cool the skin during treatments. We do not use topical anesthetics for this procedure.

How long will the treatments take? Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated. However, most treatments should take less than one hour.

How many treatments will I need? Three treatments are usually sufficient to see great results, though patients do see improvement after only one treatment. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.

What happens after the treatment? Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up can be applied to cover the redness.

When will I see results? Within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade. Diffuse redness or telangiectasia will decrease and your mottled complexion will improve.

Will the spots and redness reappear over time? New brown spots, telangiectasia and diffuse redness may appear with new sun damage; however they too can be treated. Remember to always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots and diffuse redness. Rosacea is chronic and cannot be “cured” with any laser or light source, however its appearance can be greatly improved with IPL and our Laser Genesis Treatments. Sometimes a combination of both treatments is required.

Laser Genesis Laser Therapy

The Laser Genesis procedure utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, naturally and effectively treat fine lines, wrinkles, diffuse redness and scars. You can expect to see consistent results after each treatment. Treatments can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of topical anesthetics or gel.

How does Laser Genesis work? By gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin’s surface, Laser Genesis improves the appearance of wrinkles through collagen stimulation. Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness.

What areas can be treated? Laser Genesis patients report excellent results over their entire faces and neck. Additionally, practitioners may suggest this therapy to diminish recent scars on other parts of the body.

What is diffuse redness? Diffuse redness is a general appearance of facial redness, such as rosy cheeks. This condition is caused by dilated capillaries, resulting in an appearance of general redness, not discrete, or well-defined vessels. The most commonly affected areas are the nose, forehead and cheeks. Diffuse redness is often associated with a condition called rosacea and it can be hereditary. Laser Genesis will help your appearance by gently treating and reducing the redness caused by this condition.

What does the procedure feel like? Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. You can immediately return to normal activities, utilizing sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities.

What can I expect before the treatment? You will not need gel, anesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment. Before the actual Laser Genesis treatment, you will be asked to remove your make-up or moisturizers and, in most cases, you may be asked to shave the area to be treated if you have moderate hair growth in that treatment area. Your provider will review all pre-treatment requirements.

What kind of improvements can you expect with Laser Genesis skin therapy? Over the course of four to five treatments, Laser Genesis can help restore the skin’s youthful glow and appearance. The individual treatment results can be subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic: Safely and gently treat diffuse redness • Fades acne scarring • Continuously stimulates new collagen production • Reduces the appearance of fine lines • Naturally promotes a healthy look.

How many treatments will I need? On average, you may require four to six treatments in order to achieve optimal results. Every patient’s condition and needs vary. For more information about your expected results or the number of treatments necessary, consult your provider. We offer big savings on packages.

What are the possible side effects? Although most patients report few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within a few hours of treatment. Consult your provider for complete information about the benefits and risks of treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

What areas can be treated? We can remove hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line.

What does Laser Hair Removal feel like? When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however, some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated. We are happy to send in a prescription for a potent compounded numbing cream to apply pre-treatment.

How many treatments will I need? Most areas require 3-6 treatments. However, the number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors – hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle. Each hair grows at a different rate and goes through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Laser Hair Removal treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.

What happens after the treatment? Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.

Are there any restrictions after treatment? Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.

Are there any side effects? Although patients experience few side effects, those most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. In rare instances, a burn may occur. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.

How does Laser Hair Removal compare to other hair removal treatments? Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which must be repeated on a frequent basis. Laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction for lasting results. Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, ProWave effectively treats an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.

Why should I choose ProWave over other laser therapies? Using the latest technology in hair removal, ProWave can rapidly treat large areas safely and effectively on patients with a wide range of skin types. The cooled handpiece increases patient comfort and minimizes the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other light sources.

Facial Vein/ Spider Vein Treatment

How does laser vein therapy work?

Our laser delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface – where it should be.

We can remove bothersome small, facial veins and telangiectasia quickly.  Cherry angiomas found on all parts of the body also respond very well to laser vein therapy, usually with just one or two treatments.

What do treatments feel like?

When the handpiece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation.

How long will the treatment take? The actual treatment will only take a few minutes. And, since there is no need to apply gel or topical anesthetic, your total appointment time can easily fit into your lunch hour.

How many treatments will I need? Typically, one or two treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results for facial veins. Additional treatments may be required for areas where there are many unwanted facial veins.

What happens after the treatment? When treating facial veins/capillaries/ cherry angiomas, the lesion may disappear or turn a dusky gray color. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. It may take a couple of day to a couple of weeks or longer for the veins and/or discoloration to resolve depending upon the size of the vein being treated.

Will the spots or veins reappear over time? The same veins will not reappear, however new veins could appear after excess sun exposure to unprotected skin. These new veins may also be removed. Remember to liberally apply sunscreen when outdoors to both minimize sun damage and prevent the appearance of new, unwanted superficial facial veins.

Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling

Revitalization from the Inside Out!

Learn the secret to better looking skin. When it comes to stimulating collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, Secret RF does what other treatments can't - it gets to the bottom of it. Secret RF uses radio frequency (RF) microneedling to create tissue coagulation and hemostasis deep under the skin. This triggers your body's dermal remodeling response to improve the signs of aging including texture, brightness, photoaging, reducing pore size, scars, and stretchmarks; promoting smoother, younger looking skin. RF Microneedling treatments are safe for all skin types.

WHAT IS SECRET? Secret RF is a novel approach to deliver fractional radio frequency (RF) energy to all layers of the skin with minimal damage to the skin’s surface. The multi-layered treatment is tailored to each individual and addresses their unique skin concern during each customized treatment.

WHAT SKIN CONDITIONS DOES IT TREAT? The Secret RF treatment is ideal for improving aging skin, photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck, scars, acnes scars, skin quality and striae. The treatment is safe and effective, and suitable for all skin types and patients seeking skin revitalization.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Secret RF uses microneedles to deliver radio frequency energy into varying levels of the skin including the deeper layers where treatment is most beneficial. Unlike other devices which only deposit energy in upper layer of the skin, Secret RF delivers RF energy below the surface where it’s needed most to help revitalize and regenerate the tissue. This unique delivery of energy allows us to achieve optimal results with little to no downtime on all skin types.

WHAT IS THE SECRET RF PROCEDURE LIKE? Secret RF is a easy, safe and effective procedure that can be performed in a quick, 15-minute- 1 hour treatment session. During the treatment, you will feel a slight heating and some pressure on the treatment area. For most patients, the treatment is tolerable but your provider will work with you to maximize your comfort level. Prior to the procedure, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to increase comfort during the treatment.

HOW MANY SECRET RF TREATMENTS WILL I NEED? Patients typically need 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Most patients report seeing improvement after the second treatment however results are optimized 3 months after the last treatment.

HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT LAST? Results vary based on the individual. To maintain results, maintenance treatments are recommended every 12-18 months.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY PROCEDURE? After the treatment, peptides will be applied to the skin and you will be asked to refrain from wearing make up for several hours. Any minor redness or swelling resulting from treatment will subside within 12-24 hours. After the treatment, you can expect to return to normal activities so long as you don't break a sweat for the first 12-24 hours post treatment.
